Canon Printer Not Connecting to Wi-Fi: What to Try

Use the printer’s own network menu or Canon’s model-specific setup instructions. Avoid guessing router settings if the printer cannot see the network.

A simple explanation

A changed Wi-Fi password, weak signal, guest network or setup mode can prevent a printer from joining the home network.

Step-by-step checks

  1. Find the Canon model number and the network name you intend to use.
  2. Move the printer closer to the router during setup and check whether other devices can connect normally.
  3. Use the wireless setup instructions for that exact Canon model to select your network and enter its password on the printer.
  4. After connection, add or select the printer again on the computer and try a test page.

Troubleshooting notes

Do not send your Wi-Fi password in a message. Some models have network-band requirements described in their official documentation.
